Noise Hunters Devlog 4 - Silencers


Hello [Code_Name: MEVYE] [Location: CLASSIFIED], welcome back!

Let's recap, MEVYE is capable to visualize the sound waves she generates while moving or throwing the dagger. However, that's not all! there is elements scattered throuhg the environment that generate "white noise", reducing every type of noise that is produced inside its range. 


To simplify things, every white wave you encounter will produce the same effect of "mute", despite the object of origin. This way we create a universal "safe place", in which, the player could easily recognize from a distance and use as a point of reference to navigate the level. There is a wide variety of objects that produce "white noise", most notably, pistons that hit the ground and generators.


During the first iterations of this type sound, we dabbled between different colors to represent this "safety" easily. We initially conceived the idea as a unique  object, that would produce a green wave. However, in several playtestings, we discovered that the players did not understand what was the its purpose and so, we settled in a more simplified and universal versión.
